Brand Compliance: Design
I provide two design services:
-
Conversion of Adobe InDesign files into Microsoft Word templates and documents;
-
Design new and reformat existing Microsoft Word templates and guidelines, using a company's brand guidelines.

If you have ever wanted to drop in a formatted object into a document, such as a block of text, an image, a team bio or a formatted page, watch this video to find out a bit more about Quick Parts.

This is a Microsoft Word feature that enables users to do this, making documents look more designed and they are also a great time-saving tool.

Brand Compliance: Automation
Microsoft's macros are an essential tool in enforcing brand guidelines.

Do you want to design your documents in a more professional way, but you need to do so quickly and comply with brand guidelines? Macros can help you do that.
Are you a Document Specialist or Desktop Publisher who regularly formats and proofreads documents? Take advantage of macros that can drastically reduce your time on these tasks.

Macros are customised solutions that can help you with replacing all non-compliant fonts, resize tables to the same width or formatting or inserting images at the size and width you want. All at the click of a button.

Microsoft Word Template Protector Service
I've had many clients ask for solutions about protecting their brand guidelines when working with Microsoft Word.

Two major issues affect this - incorrect manual formatting of text (such as using the wrong font or text colours) or branded documents ruined by how Microsoft pastes in content from other files.

The Microsoft Word Template Protector Service (MWTPS) has two parts:

-
it deactivates certain formatting commands in the Home tab, like the Font menu;
-
it changes how Microsoft's Paste command behaves, blocking the unwanted changes that usually occur when pasting content.

Learn more about the MWTPS by watching this video or reading Part 3 of my series on protecting branded documents from unwanted changes.

Training
Standard courses have their place, but have you ever wanted to work with a trainer to cover specific tasks or issues affecting your own work?
I hold training sessions that are focused on designing documents and templates to a consistent, and high standard.
These can be set in one-to-one and group sessions, using the client's own corporate files.
My training isn't just about the standard "how-to's" and where to click: depending on the topic, sessions will also cover what to do when the unexpected happens, such as the chaos when you delete a section break or why a Table of Contents doesn't perform as it should.

Learn how to perform the tasks you need for your work and discover the "potholes" to that Microsoft Word don't tell you about.

Contact me at design@natalielawrence.co.uk to set up an online call, so we can discuss your training needs and arrange the right session for you.
