In Microsoft Word, go to the File menu, then click on Options.
On the left, click on "Customize Ribbon" (fourth from bottom on the left).
In the pane on the right, scroll down until you can see the word "Developer" (it'll probably be under "View").
Tick the box on the left of it, then press the OK button.
